Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect
When you use Glassory, we collect:
- Account information — email address, username, and password (stored as a hashed value, never in plain text)
- OAuth profile data — if you sign in with Google or Discord, we receive your email address and profile picture from that provider
- Content you create — stash entries, project details, photos, comments, and tutorials you submit
- Profile information — optional bio, avatar, and social links you choose to add
- Usage data — page views, errors, and performance metrics collected via Azure Application Insights to help us improve the Service
2. How We Use It
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and improve the Service
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure
- Send transactional emails (password resets) when you request them
- Display your public profile and content to other users
- Monitor errors and performance to fix bugs
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
3. Third-Party Services
Glassory uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
- Microsoft Azure — hosting, database, and blob storage for photos
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in provider
- Discord OAuth — optional sign-in provider
- Resend — transactional email delivery (password resets)
- Azure Application Insights — error monitoring and usage analytics
4. Photos and Uploads
Photos you upload are stored in Microsoft Azure Blob Storage. Images are converted to WebP format and stored at multiple resolutions for display purposes. Photos attached to public projects or public stash items are accessible to anyone who views those pages.
5. Public vs. Private Content
Projects and stash items are public by default and visible to other users. You can set individual projects to private from the project settings. We plan to add privacy controls for stash items in a future update.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and content are removed from our systems. Some anonymized data (such as product database contributions) may be retained to preserve the integrity of the community database.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Update or correct your account information at any time from your profile settings
- Delete your account from your profile settings, which removes your personal data
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us through the feedback form
8. Cookies and Sessions
Glassory uses a single encrypted session cookie to keep you logged in. We also store your dark mode preference in your browser's local storage. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
