Community Guidelines

Last updated: May 21, 2026

Glassory is a space for lampwork and art glass artists to share knowledge, catalog their supplies, and celebrate their work. To keep it welcoming for everyone — beginners asking their first question and experienced artists sharing decades of experience — we ask that all members follow these guidelines.

Moderators may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines, at their discretion.

Be Kind and Respectful

  • Treat all members with respect, regardless of skill level, background, or equipment.
  • Critique technique or work constructively — harsh, personal, or dismissive criticism is not welcome.
  • No harassment, insults, or hate speech of any kind. This includes comments about race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
  • Assume good faith. If something reads as rude, consider that tone is hard to convey in text before responding.

Keep It Relevant

  • Comments and tutorials should relate to lampwork, art glass, glass-working tools, or the creative process.
  • Do not use Glassory to advertise unrelated products or services.
  • Spam — including repetitive posts, low-effort promotional links, or bot-generated content — will be removed.

Respect Copyright

  • Only upload photos you took yourself or have explicit permission to share.
  • When submitting tutorials, link to the original source — do not reproduce someone else's tutorial text or video without permission.
  • Credit artists and creators when referencing their work.

Glass Database Accuracy

  • When adding or editing glass products, provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge.
  • Use the flag tool to report incorrect data — don't try to "correct" a product by overwriting it with guesses.
  • If you're unsure of a COE or compatibility detail, leave the field blank rather than guessing.

Safety First

  • Do not share advice that encourages unsafe practice — working without ventilation, skipping annealing, or ignoring COE incompatibility.
  • If you see a safety concern in a tutorial or comment, use the flag tool so moderators can review it.

Reporting

If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the Flag link on any comment or the feedback form. We review all reports and will act on legitimate concerns promptly. We do not share the identity of reporters.

Enforcement

Violations may result in content removal, a warning, or account suspension depending on severity and history. Serious violations (harassment, hate speech, illegal content) may result in immediate and permanent removal. We will not restore accounts suspended for severe violations.
